7 DAY SCHEDULE INCLUDING 7 DIVES
This package includes airport transfers, 7 nights at Hilda’s Homestay, 3 training dives with certification, 3 dives with ReefoDivers Diani and a full daytrip with Pilli Pipa including one fun dive in the marine park.
Arrival at Diani
DAY 1
Your one week dive package starts with a pickup by taxi from Mombasa or Ukunda airport which will bring you to Hilda’s Homestay. Hilda offers a great bed & breakfast on the 2nd floor of a clean and spacious villa. It’s just a 5 min. walk from the beach where you can find nice meals and have a drink!
Orientation dive
DAY 2
Start your day with a nice breakfast and head to the ReefoDivers dive base to gear up for your first dive! Explore the reef and nursery area and then have lunch at the magnificent Swahili Beach resort. In the afternoon you’ll have a presentation and workshop about coral reef restoration. Finish your day with a swim in the pool!
Specialty Diver course
DAY 3-4
The next morning you’ll participate in the PADI Coral Reef Restoration Diver course. You’ll collect corals, fill and clean a coral nursery during the first 2 training dives. The next moring you’ll finish the course by outplanting corals to the natural reef, after which you’ll get your certification!
Two volunteer dives
DAY 5-6
Since you are now qualified as a coral reef restoration diver, you can help out the dedicated ReefoDivers Diani team! You will join our Reef Rangers at the Swahili Nurseries dive site and spend your time filling and maintaining the nurseries or harvesting and outplanting corals.
Fun dive marine park
DAY 7
Spice up your holiday with a beautiful trip to the Kisite-Mpunguti marine park where you can do a shallow dive at the beautiful reef. On the way you'll look out for dolphins and when you're lucky you can meet them underwater! After the diving you head to the quiet Wasini Island for a traditional Swahili lunch!
Departure
DAY 8
End your holiday with a final breakfast at Hilda's Homestay and a last splash in the pool. The taxi will pick you up and bring you back to Ukunda or Mombasa airport where you can get your flight back home!
This package does not include flight tickets and local transport. Meals and drinks are also not included. The schedule is based upon your arrival and departure on Sundays, but we can adjust this depending on your travel dates. Keep in mind that the weather can be unpredictable (especially in the months July-August-September). If you'd like to extend your stay with a couple of days, please let us know so we can customize the schedule to your needs. Karibu Kenya!
