Coral Nursery Workshop

Learn all about coral nurseries in an interactive presentation and have lunch with our team-members at Swahili Beach. Coral nurseries are the first step in coral reef restoration and are needed to increase the amount of healthy corals. Our nurseries are tree-like structures that provide optimal conditions for coral to grow and survive. They are made of pipes and fishing line and can hold up to a hundred fragments of coral each. During this workshop you will construct a floating coral nursery for coral reef restoration that can be used for our coral reef restoration pilot project. After your successful participation you will receive a certificate of recognition that will make you eligible to volunteer with us with non-diver activities!
