While the rainy season limited our time in the ocean, our team at ReefoDivers Diani made sure to keep the spirit of conservation alive on land. One of our Reef Rangers took the lead in training our new trainees, Rehema, on how to run our educational kids’ program, “Save Our Corals.”

This fun and engaging activity takes place in the swimming pool at Swahili Beach, where children get the chance to learn about coral reef restoration in a playful way. Using brightly painted coral fragments, the kids dive into the pool to 'rescue' the pieces and carefully attach them to mini coral tree nurseries. The idea is simple yet powerful: just like in the ocean, the quicker they manage to attach the fragments, the higher the chance of survival for the corals they’ve saved. Through this game, children not only have fun but also gain awareness of the challenges facing our reefs and the importance of protecting them.

By inspiring the next generation of ocean stewards, we hope to plant seeds of curiosity and care that will grow into a lifelong commitment to protecting marine life.
