During an early New Year's dive, we encountered remnants of fishing nets entangled within our nursery structures. The corals in both the nursery trees and depth gradients showed damage as a result. Fortunately, our team successfully removed the fishing nets and restored most of the displaced coral fragments back into the nurseries. We hope to raise more awareness about the potential impact of fisheries on our coral reef restoration efforts, but we can only achieve this when the local community is ready to be fully engaged. Let this be our biggest wish for 2024!
