Today, we had the joy of participating in a beach clean-up event organized by the Olive Ridley Project at the beautiful Diani Chale Reserve. The event aimed to tackle the issue of marine debris, foster a cleaner environment for marine life, and ensure the long-term sustainability of our coastal habitats. Joined by dedicated volunteers, environmental enthusiasts, and representatives from various organizations, our team, comprising three Reef Rangers and a passionate volunteer from Reefolution Diani, made a significant impact by collecting trash.
Armed with gloves, trash bags, and unwavering determination, our team ventured along the shoreline, diligently removing and counting harmful debris. From plastic bottles to discarded fishing gear, each item removed from the beach represented a step forward in mitigating the threats posed to marine life. By working together, we were able to create a visible change and raise awareness about the consequences of our actions on the marine ecosystem. Moving forward, we will continue to engage in beach clean-ups, advocate for responsible waste management, and educate communities about the importance of protecting Diani Beach.
Let's beat marine plastic pollution.
